Ramshaven Mailing List

If you are a resident or friend of the barony, or just want to keep up with what's going on in the barony, you are welcome to join our mailing list.

The listgroup resides on Yahoogroups: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SCA-Ramshaven/

You can subscribe directly to the list, and set your mail options through Yahoogroups to receive the list traffic as individual mails or daily digests, or you can create a Yahoo ID (if you don't have one already) and log into the list site itself to read your messages there.

The advantage of the Yahoo list is the automated archiving process, which means all messages are kept on file on the server; you can go back and read as much as you want, when you want. We also make some files available to list members through the file posting area on the site. We also take advantage of the calendar features, to send automated notices of regular activities such as meetings or combat practices, as well as psecial events.

Please pay heed to some basic rules of list etiquette:

1. The list is, for the most part, unmoderated. We rely on the participants' personal senses of honour to be courteous at all times. Mind your language, be aware that there are youngsters with access to this list.
2. Please trim your posts when replying. This means deleting any previous messages quoted into your reply to list mail, or trimming to only quote the relevant bits you need for context. This is to keep the bulk of email as low as possible, for those who have slow dial-up connections, who receive the daily mail in digest form, or who just plain don't want to read the same mail twice.
3. File attachments are not allowed; if you have something you wish to share, contact the list moderator (details in the Yahoo group membership list) and request the files be uploaded to the common area on the list site.
