{"id":98,"date":"2023-05-28T15:39:28","date_gmt":"2023-05-28T19:39:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ealdormere.ca\/eaod\/?p=98"},"modified":"2023-05-28T15:42:10","modified_gmt":"2023-05-28T19:42:10","slug":"new-cadets-from-fruits-of-our-labours-as-58","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ealdormere.ca\/eaod\/2023\/05\/28\/new-cadets-from-fruits-of-our-labours-as-58\/","title":{"rendered":"New cadets from Fruits of our Labours, AS 58"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Good cousins, what joy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our ranks have increased by 8 new members at Fruits of our Labours XVI, AS LVIII.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At kingdom court, the academy welcomed the king&#8217;s rapier champion, Xandra Rozina Xiberras Galea, known to many as Mistress Rozi, as its newest Patron, and recognized me (Genevieve) as its Praeceptor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Sunday, the following nobles successfully met challengers of their mettle, and also successfully held the field for 15 mins as required by our charter:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Lord Aldwynn of Canterbury<\/li><li>Lady Victoria von Willmundingen<\/li><li>Lord Ge\u00f6rg Stauffer<\/li><li>Lord Wolfgang Stroem<\/li><li>Lord Matth\u00e4us Lindenhayn<\/li><li>Lady Claire de Lyon<\/li><li>Visc Genevieve la flechiere<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Of note: Lord Matth\u00e4us met his challengers throughout with his offhand, as he recovers from an injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These nobles were recognized in a brief baronial court by TE of Ramshaven, Bridget and Henry, on Sunday evening. HG Mistress Rylyn provided new scarves for all those who advanced at this event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These challenges would not have happened at all without the support of the academy&#8217;s longtime members HL Cristabel Wensleydale, HL Wilhelm von Pottruff, Lord Magnus Rasmussen, and Master Albrecht Stampfer. Cristabel provided clear direction and advice throughout, and made the challenges run smoothly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also owe great thanks to several keen fencers and marshals &#8211; notably Sir Roak, Sir Edward, Master Eyrny, HE Daffyd, and Lord Nicola, who supported the challengers on the field, though they are not academy members. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lord John Moran brought his sunshade and set a hospitable table for folks between bouts, made the day richer with rest, and a cool place to sit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a great joy to see people crossing swords with such good will and cheer at FOOL.
