Fencing schedule:
- 10:30 am Inspections and authorizations
- 11 am Warm ups and Cadet Prize Fight
- 12 pm Break for Lunch
- 12:30 pm Fechtschule Tourney
- 2 pm Master Albrecht holds the Field (50 Bouts)
I am informed that there will be indoor space for martial activities, but if the weather permits, we will likely be outdoors. If we end up indoors there may be some re-jigging of the schedule as there is also Armoured Combat at the event. Due to time constraints, Armoured and Fencing will be run at the same time.
The Appetizer – A Cadet Prize for The Ealdormere Academy of Defence (EAOD)
A gentle will be fighting their Prize for the Rank of Cadet in the EAOD. This will consist of them fighting ten bouts against Cadets of the Academy, of which they need to win at least three. This will be followed by them holding the field for fifteen minutes against all comers. The participants in the fifteen minutes challenge do not need to be part of the Academy.
The Main Course – Fechtschule Um Die Platte Des Albrecht (The Fechtscule of Albrecht’s Platter)
The Fechtschule will be a coin tourney run in a challenge format. The fencers will be divided into two groups, the Brotherhood of St Mark (Marxbruder) and the Fencers of the Feather (Federfechters). The sides will alternate picking a fencer, and the other side will respond with a challenger. Each victorious combatant will receive a coin. The coins for each side will be tallied at the end, with bragging rights going to the group with the most coins. The tourney ends when the supply of coins runs out. There will be 50 Coins.
Dessert – 50 Bouts for 50 Years If time permits, Master Albrecht will hold the field for 50 bouts, one for each year of the Canton
