It is a fun and relaxed, long weekend event featuring arts and science classes. As we get closer to the event date, the class descriptions and schedule will start to fill. Class registration will open sometime toward the middle or end of March, once the schedule starts to be confirmed. This will be announced on our Facebook event page. Pre-registration for classes is recommended as many have limited spots available and may fill up quickly. Material fees are payable at the registration table after you pay at gate. You will get a ticket to give to the class instructor, who can then exchanges these for the fees. This process make sure that those who register get their spots in the class, and that teachers who have paid for materials, get reimbursed appropriately.

Families are welcome. There are 56 acres to explore, including trails in the bush behind the main activity areas. There can be mosquitos, raccoons, skunks and coyotes in the area, so plan to bring bug spray and keep your food put away.

The FOOL site is Dry. (Dry is a term for no alcohol permitted)

Camping

We sometimes become victims of our own success, and as more people attend, parking becomes more of an issue. We also noted that last year, the camps were set up in such a way that there was no way for emergency services to reach certain tents. That’s a safety issue we’d like to solve.

In an effort to kill two birds with one stone, there are some significant NEW policies and procedure changes this year. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.

If you are bringing a vardo, RV or camping trailer, please email fool.ealdormere@gmail.com to register your vehicle with trailer size, number of people etc. . Because site conditions vary, and to make sure there is adequate space, we reserve spots for these vehicles. There are boggy spots in the camping area, and putting and keeping heavy equipment in the wrong place, might mean we tear up the field when you leave. This would make our site owners extremely unhappy with us, which we would like to avoid at all costs. We need to know the size of the trailer, and any other details, such as if you are camping in a group. Please make every effort to arrive during gate hours (see post 2 in this series), so that there is someone available to guide you.

In the site booklet, which you can find at the bottom of the homepage, you will find a map. On that map, you may notice a new feature, a one way road. Please obey the signs while driving and DO NOT camp in the roadway. If you are able to pull into your campsite when you arrive, please do so to unload. Then follow the signs and move your vehicle into the parking lot. Danny will tell you know where to park. Please be considerate to the limited parking available and do not leave too much space between nearby cars. Trailers will not be permitted to be parked in the main parking lot, we have additional parking for them. Danny will instruct you on where you can park.

If you are unable to pull into your campsite, please park your vehicle on one side of the road, with sufficient space for others to pass you. Remember this is a one way road and people need to get by!

There is lots of free space available for tents and pavillions. There are flushies and showers in the main building and outhouses around the camping field.

Campfires

There is a communal fire pit available for use. Campfires on the field are NOT allowed. A raised fire bowl is acceptable.

Tavern

There is no tavern or lunch counter at FOOL. There are some outlets available for small appliances like crock pots in the main Beaver Lodge. No fire pits for cooking or warmth are to be dug on the camping field, however there is a communal fire pit available to all.

Bunks

Bunk Registration – Important Changes! This year bunk registrations will take place in two phases. On Monday, March 9th at 9:01am to Wednesday, March 11th 9:01am EST (48 hours), those with mobility issues (must have a valid provincial blue parking permit) will have early access to booking a bunk room. This will be on a first into the email inbox basis. Once that phase is completed, if there are any bunk rooms still available an announcement will be made and the date and time for phase 2 open to the general populace will be made. The bunk registration fee for both phases is still $40.00.

The feedback that we have received in previous years regarding the bunk reservation system has led to some changes this year. Please read carefully and distribute widely. The staff feels that this will make the system fairer and more accessible. It will be similar to previous years, where one person makes a bunk reservation for an entire room. It is up to them to decide how many people they wish to share that bunk space with. Beginning at 9:01 am on Monday, March 9, you may e-mail Countess Lyda (fool.ealdormere@gmail.com)with your reservation request. NO IN-PERSON REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Your request will be put in the queue based on the time stamp of your email. Please follow that up with an e-transfer payment of $40 to the same address within 48 hours of confirmation of your bunk reservation to secure your spot. There is FREE, but limited communal loft space, but please pre-register for that also, using the same mechanism. ALL reservations received before the start time will be rejected. ALL reservations not received via email will be rejected. The email address for reservations and questions is fool.ealdormere@gmail.com

Pets

No pets are allowed on site. This includes, dogs, cats, snakes, hedgehogs, llamas, elephants etc. Staff does reserve the rights to all Snails, Monkeys, Wombats, Penguins and Pandas. Only registered service animals are permitted. Under Provincial and Federal laws Support animals are not covered under Service Animal laws or exemptions.

Smoking/Vaping

Smoking and vaping are not allowed in the buildings or common areas. Common areas may be defined as an area where people start to gather, rather than fixed locations. Field stripping of cigarettes is acceptable.

Other stuff to know – contact fool.ealdormere@gmail.com for further information, or to suggest or request classes.

FOOL 19 Let The Games Begin May 15th – 18th, 2026 Camp Impeesa 827559 Township Rd 8, Drumbo, ON N0J 1G0 4 pm Friday May…

["post-30","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
