Fire rings MUST be used and are provided. First come, first served. All fire pits that are dug, must be filled in before leaving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parking<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parking is ONLY in the parking lot. Please unload as quickly as possible and move your vehicle to the parking lot so others can come in. Roads are a single car\/trailer width and there is no room to park your vehicle at any time other than initial unloading and final loading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may bring your town run items to your site but are asked to keep it to a 15 minute maximum. If you park anywhere other than the parking lot longer than 15 minutes, you may be asked to leave the site for the duration of the event. We need to leave room for the Honey wagon as well as Emergency Vehicles and as a Health &amp; Safety issue this is a zero tolerance subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Showers<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Showers are again available with hot water on demand units. If you have your own shower for your site, you will need to bring your own water or use the water from the shower area ONLY (a 500 gallon container will be provided). The water supplier we have will not come to refill and if it is hot, we need water to stay hydrated first and foremost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drinking Water<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drinking water will be available. This is a 1500 gallon and a 500 gallon (Shower area) container and our water supplier does not come to refill. Please do NOT use for encampment showers, pools, etc. Only drinking, cooking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pools, other activities that use water<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you bring a small pool, please arrange your own water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alcohol<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Site is wet. Please be respectful of your fellow campers. Help those with you stay safe. Walk them home if necessary. No sale of alcohol will be permitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Garbage<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Garbage is available. You agreed to take any additional steps to protect your own health and safety and those under your control as you believe to be necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--nextpage-->\n\n\n\n<p>TRILLIUM WAR CLASS DESCRIPTIONS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Medieval Spice Mixtures with Frowe Dorothea ($5): The proper use of spice was the hallmark of a good<br>cook, and an indication of wealth and status in medieval Europe. We will discuss popular spices as we<br>make some of the more popular spice blends of Medieval Europe. We will make up our own spice<br>blends like Poudre Fort, Poudre Douce, Fine Spice Powder, Sweet Spice, and Trisenet, from a variety of<br>whole and ground spices. Make your own blends to your taste, as no two cooks had exactly the same<br>recipe. You&nbsp;must&nbsp;bring your own mortar and pestle to help powder and blend your spices. Class Size: up<br>to 8. Cost: $5 to cover the cost of spices and handout. &nbsp;1 hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Medieval high tech, how to build and use a war mud oven with THL Jehanne de Bretagne and THL<br>Brendan Hunterson: In this two part class we will explore the complex process of building a war oven,<br>often built on campaign as a semi permanent structure, as described in period litt\u00e9rature. We will look<br>at building, firing and, in the second part, using the oven to cook a period recipe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Embroidery -Mastering the Detached Buttonhole Stitch with Amelye Merriman ($10): A fantastic<br>\u2018filler\u2019 stitch for coifs and jackets. If you are new to embroidery, there will be a stitch \u2018primer\u2019 class on<br>Friday (tbd) Skill level: Intermediate (or Very Ambitious Beginner)<br>Using motifs found in Amelye&#8217;s embroidered coif (patterned after a late-period cushion cover), we will<br>cover the technique of using detached buttonhole stitch to fill areas of colour in polychrome<br>representational free-hand embroidery. We will also discuss thread management and order of<br>operations for laying down stitches, as well as multiple colours and stripes, and what the style was in<br>period.<br>There will also be an informal class on Friday at Amelye&#8217;s camp\/Harpy Hall (time and site to be added to<br>the schedule) to cover all four stitches used in the coif, for any interested. Johanna has camped since very, very<br>young and can offer some sound advice on a few areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Academy of Defense Symposium with Genevieve la Flechiere: time and location to be determined<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Liking Lichens with the Vikings (Saturday afternoon in DARC camp) with Wilfrid of Sweflingham:<br>Producing dyes from earth tones to electric pink and sky blues, lichens dyes yield colors across a wide<br>colour spectrum. This class will cover the collection, preparation, and dyeing with a selection of lichens<br>using the boiling water and ammonia fermentation methods, some archeological observations, and a<br>little bit of chemistry. Yarn will be provided for samples from at least two lichen dyes, but there should<br>be space for a few extra small skeins. Learn to create the stunning tessellations used to decorate the<br>Islamic world. A compass, ruler, and basic math are used to construct 4 and 6 fold templates, then we<br>will create a simple pattern that can be repeated again and again! Remember to bring glasses. Materials<br>will be provided, donations to the college.<br>Times: 1hr long on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings. This is when I&#8217;m available to teach, you pick<br>how many times and when. Make it fit your schedule!<br>Make your own belt with Ellaire ($15): Join Ellaire from Reliquaria to make your own belt using a<br>modern belt blank (with easy snaps) and a medieval replica buckle. You will have the opportunity to dye<br>your belt your favorite colour, choose a replica buckle from a selection provided by Reliquaria and learn<br>about more accurate ways to make your garb look more authentic. You might event pick up a few style<br>tips along the way.<br>In Persona Meet and Greet with Petronill Seel : Come to the town square, oh travellers and be<br>welcome. Whether merchant, pilgrim, wastrel, or noble, come and chat with others travelling this fine<br>summer season. An opportunity to roleplay your persona for a little while, it matters not if you have a<br>fully researched one from an Aztec civilization or a vague sense of \u201csomewhere in Ireland because I<br>think they wore pants.\u201d This is my first time running one of these sessions so note there will be a<br>learning curve for everyone. It is recommend by others who have tried this, that we refrain from seeing<br>and commenting on anachronisms as much as possible, so even though our clothing and habits might be<br>odd to each other we still treat them as expected.<br>Norse Material Culture with Sylard, \u2018that Viking Guy\u2019: Sylard will be having an ongoing &#8216;Norse<br>MaterialCulture&#8217; discussion at his booth set up in front side of the DARC camp. He will have more than<br>just sales related example of various forged items, things related to iron smelting. He will also bring<br>along a few (treasured) reference works.
