Meeting September 21, 2025

Is it Tuesday already??? I almost forgot to post about the wonderful gathering we had on Sunday, September 21. We enjoyed tea, cake, and some mead to celebrate Yngveld’s return and Sibylla’s birthday. There were some setbacks concerning armoring up, sore back, tired, armor in transit…but we did other things instead like throw axes. Martine and Mike gave it a good shot, although Martine had to use her left arm because her right arm is still damaged from rock climbing. Sibylla and Yngveld also chucked a few axes before returning to working on projects. Penda and Wulfric set up the range and chucked a few axes before heading off to the workshop. Penda cut out spoon and lucet blanks from some rived basswood and showed Wulfric how to use the lathe. Wulfric made a cup! Alex worked on her lovely wool dress that she hopes to wear to Wassail. Yngveld who has just returned to us from a two-year work period in the Ukraine, mended her purple socks, and Sibylla (that’s me) worked on some tablet weaving. Wulfwynne enjoyed some husbandry conversations…her chickens are laying earlier than expected, so very exciting. Lots of other things going on as well so a good catch-up.

Our next gathering will be Scrumpy Day, October 19th, beginning at 11 am. We will enjoy a potluck lunch after apple picking. We will go, rain or shine, so dress accordingly.

We have word that the bid for Kingdom A&S has gone in but has not yet been approved, so we will wait and see what happens.
