Tournament Descriptions:
Early Bird Bear-pit Tournaments by Duke Trumbrand
The early bird gets more fun! Each fight earns one point. Victors say in the list, defeated go back into line. Wounds are retained. No mercy limit.
Portcullis Tourney by Lord Eral
Attackers and defenders for both armoured and fencing. Armoured have a closed portcullis and may fight over a barrier. Fencers have to hit the lever to open the portcullis for armoured. Then further up, fencers have a portcullis and armoured needs to hit lever to open it. Resurrection battle. Once last portcullis is open no more resurrection and fight to finish. NOTE Fencers and Armoured combatants fight simultaneously on parallel lists.
Ladder Tournaments by Duchess Kaylah
Win fights to climb the ladder! This is a sorting tournament, how high up the ladder can you climb?
After one quick folding speed round, participants form a line up from randomly drawn numbers. This is the “ladder”. Each round, fight the person beside you. Winners take the higher number, defeated go down the ladder one number. Wash, rinse and repeat.
Spear vs Spear by Cesare
This tournament is for all of you who want more time to fight with a spear. Don’t bother bringing your sword to this tourney… it can stay in camp
Weapon forms allowed are; spear, double spear, or spear and parry device
Format: Bear Pit Goal: Fun
Random Weapons Tourney: (Lord Arcill)
Combatants shall not be required to use all items rolled. A combatant who chooses not to use an item they rolled begins the fight having lost use of the hand and arm which rolled that item.
The format will be either round robin or double elimination, based on the number of entrants.
Before each fight, both combatants roll on the Item table once for each hand.
If a combatant does not roll at least one weapon, they must reroll for both hands.
If a combatant rolls an item or combination of items with which they are not authorized, they must replace one hand with Nothing or reroll for both hands.
Items may not be held by hands for which they were not rolled (ie; if you roll right hand shield and left hand spear, you may not use the shield in your left hand, or the spear in your right).
A combatant who has lost the use of all hands and arms for which they rolled a weapon, they must forfeit the bout.
If a combatant rolls the same item for both hands (ie, left hand spear and right hand spear) the combatant may hold the item with both hands.
Rabid Bear Pit (Lord Arcill)
- This rabid bear pit will run for 45 minutes, with two water breaks.
- The first round is a Roman melee (free for all). The winner of this first round will be the bear.
- On the bear’s second round, two combatants will be sent in to face the bear. on the bear’s third round, three combatants will be sent in to face the bear, and so on.
- When the bear is inevitably killed, the round ends and all combatants remaining on the field will fight a Roman melee. The winner of this round will be the bear.
- Repeat the above two paragraphs until the time is up
- The bear will receive one point for each combatant they kill.
- Each combatant alive when the bear is killed will receive one point for each round the bear survived, plus one.
- The winner of each Roman melee after the very first will receive one point for each combatant in the melee at it’s beginning.
