Map of Camp Catarqui

The longhouse, (hall) is wheelchair accessible, and has two large accessible washrooms with generously sized and bench-equipped showers. There is also a shower in the men’s washroom. There are a number of outhouses scattered around the site. There are three points of access to portable water near the campsites, and there is a hydro post for charging batteries in the main common area outside the longhouse. The longhouse is well lit and large, and we encourage teachers to consider offering classes there! There is a small kitchen, very simple but again perhaps suitable for a class or three.

There is a bunkhouse containing eight bunks, which we will make available for a small extra charge – a second bunkhouse may be finished by the event and so more may be available. The bunkhouses have air conditioning, as does the hall. There is also a cabin we are reserving for Their Majesties, which has a small room for scroll-signing and a larger area that could be used for meetings.

The camp staff have very generously allowed us to have dogs on site, provided of course that they are leashed and cleaned up after – extra poop bags will be made available at Gate if needed! They have also permitted us to designate the event as “discreetly damp”.

We are requested not to dig holes, but fire rings are available in most camps, and there is a large fire area available for bardic circles.

The second large common area has a space for archery with an arrow net behind, and a large canvas pavilion that could also be used for classes, or dancing. We are planning to host the merchants in that area. If you would like to merchant, Baron Penda and Baroness Sybilla have generously offered to liaison, and are hoping to organize a market day and perhaps some other merchant-promoting activities. Please send an email to mark.pasley@gmail.com with your needs so you can be added to the merchant list. Merchants attending.

The combat field is up a small hill (just to make you feel like home) but not a steep hill. I will be consulting with our MiC about the possiblity of woods battles, as the combat area is surrounded by trees and appears to have less deadfall than the rest of the camp. Combat Schedule

The list-field awaits!

Camps are located along the road (which terminates at the hall). Most camps are close to the road, but cannot be driven into, so if you have a camp cart or wagon it will save you an extra few feet of carrying! We will endeavor to have staff available to help carry for those with physical limitations.

There is one field with vehicle access, where camps with wagons and vardos etc. can be accommodated. When booking your campsite you will be able to make arrangements for those vehicles.

Site Map below – it may be altered as plans are confirmed. Please note that the map does not give a very good sense of scale, as the property is almost 100 acres, all areas are considerably larger than they appear!
