3:30 pm – Wrap up tournaments and prepare for Court

Investiture feast will be a small intimate affair combining Japanese and Cree cuisine in honour of the personas of Okimâw Mihko Pîsim and Umesaya Soukurou-dono.

Tickets are limited so please reserve early. 

Appetizer

Miso Soup (tofu, seaweed, and miso [fermented soybeans])
Rice (rice, salt)
Pickled Vegetables (radish, cucumber, ginger)
Mushrooms

Main Course

Smoked fish
Stuffed Turkey Breast (turkey breast, beans, corn wild rice, pickled onions, mushrooms, spices [oregano, salt, smoked salt, onion, paprika, cumin, red chili pepper, sugar])
Roasted Vegetables (potatoes, squash, onion, spices [garlic, Italian blend])

Dessert

Glazed chestnuts (peeled chestnuts, sugar, salt, sesame seeds, vegetable oil, mirin, soy sauce)
Boiled blueberry pudding (blueberries, flour, sugar)

Bar

A cash bar, served by the site personnel will be available from 11 am – Evening.

Tournaments

A&S

There will be a Largess competition in the form of a Dirty Dozen. Entrants will make a dozen identical/similar items (i.e 12 bracelets, pouches, favors, etc.) The winner will receive one of each of the entries and the rest will go to The Rising Waters Baronials for largess.

Fencing
  • Shrewsbury Tourney – Fencers form in a circle. Fencer #1 steps into the middle, then fencers 2 through X step in to fight fencer #1 going clockwise around the circle: win or lose. When Fencer #1 and # X are done with their bought, they both step back into place and Fencer #2 steps into the center and fights fencers 3 through 1 going around the circle until each fencer has a chance to be in the middle and fights everyone one after another.
  • 3v3 capture the flag melee
    • Teams will be tethered together by a 5 foot cord between each team member (movement will be somewhat limited)
    • The middle team member will have the flag
    • Teams will be as evenly matched as possible (ie. 1 MOD, 1 intermediate, 1 novice per team)

Archery

This event will feature three archery tournaments:

  • Falling Leaves – Five-colour target shooting with a twist!
  • Feathers and Fans – In honour of the new Baronials. Just don’t hit the electric fan!
  • Yeoman of the Wolf
Thrown Weapons

We will have two tournaments for thrown weapons, including:

Yeoman of the Wolf – Each participant will throw two rounds of six projectiles. Scoring will be as follows; 5 for the eyes, 4 for the green, 3 for the red, 2 for within the Trillium and 1 for paper.

Thrown Weapons Inter-Kingdom (TWIC) Tournament – Details available here: https://scores-sca.org/home/index.php?R=24&. The Rising Waters Baronial Thrown Weapons Champion may be selected from the participants in this tournament. NOTE: yes, they must be a member of the Barony of Rising Waters.
