Fencers of Ealdormere,
We have put blade grasping on hold until further notice. This includes catch and release of the blade. There has been an uptick in fencers grabbing their opponent’s sword and holding on (instead of ‘catch and release’). At times this has come close to grappling, making an unsafe situation with the potential of someone being badly hurt.
Please refrain from grasping your opponent’s blade during a fight. Remind your friends if they forget and Marshals, please remind combatants before bouts.
There will be a moot about this sometime after TRH step up, and we can have discussion but until that time all grasping is suspended.
